Christof Ellinghaus

Christof Ellinghaus is a board member of VUT (German Association of Independent Music Companies) as well as of IMPALA (on a European level).

 

After establishing his booking agency SOOMA in 1987 and the well-known German indie label City Slang Records, he also worked as managing director of labels such as LABELS Germany, MUTE Tonträger GmbH and Virgin Germany.He established the music publishing company CEUSO as well as Souterrain Transmissions Records and celebrated the twentieth anniversary of City Slang Records in 2010.

 

Christof Ellinghaus was the tour agent of famous bands such as Nirvana, The Flaming Lips, Soundgarden, Yo la Tengo, The Lemonheads etc. and is releasing acts such as Tortoise, Built To Spill, To Rococo Rot, Schneider TM, Calexico, Lambchop or Boss Hog with the City Slang label.

Born 1962 in Altstätten (Switzerland). 1983-1989 studied linguistics and German language and literature in Zurich; works as culture journalist in Zurich and Munich (“Die Weltwoche“, “Wiener“). Since 1994 editor of the Austrian news magazine “profil” in Vienna. 1995-2002 head of the culture department. Since 2002 editor in chief of “profil”. He also works as DJ (House/Minimal) and club host. In 2001 he has established the label “laudon recordings” together with DJ and producer Jeremiah.

Franz Hergovich

Franz Hergovich started working in record stores and as a DJ in Vienna in the late 1980s. He has worked as a concert promoter for various locations in Vienna.

 

From 1996 to 2008 he was head of national distribution for Soul Seduction Distribution (worldwide distributor of Austrian labels such as G-Stone Recordings, Couch Records, Dope Noir, Klein Records, Sunshine Enterprises and national distributor of labels such as !K7, Ninja Tune, Ya Basta!, Wagram, Morr Music, Soul Jazz Records).

 

Since April 2008 he has been working as curator for pop, rock and electronic music and project manager with the Austrian music information center mica - music austria, since 2011 he has been managing director and deputy executive director of MICA - Music Promotion Agency GmbH.

Karoline Simonitsch

Karoline Simonitsch is an expert in new media (mobile and social media, games), changes of the media and their utilization, and consequential effects on business models and strategies.

 

In this function she provides consulting to companies, public entities and municipalities primarily in Germany and Austria. She is a sought-after speaker at various events. Since 2004 she has furthermore acted as jury member or head of the jury for competitions and calls, and as expert for several funding programs. In the fall semester of 2011 she will hold lectures at two universities in Germany and Austria.

 

From April 2000 to March 2007 Karoline Simonitsch - an Austrian expert with an international background - worked as a manger with full commercial authority with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Vienna and Düsseldorf . Since April 2007 she has been a self-employed business consultant.

 

Karoline Simonitsch studied at Karl Franzens University in Graz, the Vienna University of Economics and Business and the University of California, Berkeley, USA.
